Yoga Therapeutics III: Exploring Asymmetries
The natural wisdom of our bodies always moves ustowardequilibrium, toward being centered in space and grounded in form. This equilibrium supports a state of vibrant health and balance.Yet nearly all of us have injuries and asymmetries that pull us off center, giving usa subtle sense of being out of balance. In addition, many of us are challenged in developing, utilizing, and sticking to a therapeutic yoga practice that addresses our disequilibrium and supports our needs. In this workshop, we will explore simple yet powerful ways of mobilizing internal awareness to detect, and fully experience, asymmetries in our bodies. We will review the relational alignment patternsin which the body compensates for asymmetry in response to injuries and physical challenges. We willlearn integral methods of addressing theseasymmetries, promoting freedom and spacein the body and grounding positive change. Drawing from asana, anatomy, alignment, pranayama, and restorative yoga, you willwork on creating your own adaptable practice sequence tailored toaddress your particular asymmetries and heal your body, mind, and emotions. You will also be given the opportunity to do this for others.
*Priority registration will be given to those students taking the Elemental Yoga Teacher Training.

Using Integrative Yoga Therapeutics, including slow, challenging vinyasa yoga with isometrics, therapeutic asana, restorative yoga, and breathwork, we will learn ways to flush toxins from the Lymphatic Web, enhancing physical, emotional, and energetic life-force. Yoga for Emotional Healing
Memories, emotions, and experiences are stored in the tissues of the body, written onto the nervous system, and encoded in our mental and emotional bodies. Over time, this storage can lead to the formation of neuron-emotional patterns, known in Sanskrit terms as samskaras, that limit our vitality, joy, and creative potential. Traditional methods of healing such as psychotherapy have long been aware of the gap between insight and change. Because the nervous system is the gateway to change, yoga’s ability to re-wire the nervous system (and alleviate anxiety, insomnia, and depression) is one of its greatest healing benefits. In this workshop, we will use Integrative Yoga Therpeutics, including breathwork, restorative yoga, alignment, and therapeutic asana to balance the nervous system, release what is stored in the mind, and create healthier neuro-emotional patterns to awaken the synergy of mind, body, and spirit that already exists within us.

Yoga: Healing the Mind and Emotions Focusing on Anxiety, Insomnia, and Depression
